Volley Bartreng was founded in 1981 under the name VC Smash 81 Bartreng on the initiative of Nicole Tandel. The official date of foundation is 15 May 1981. One month later, on 20 June 1981, the new volleyball club became affiliated with the F.L.V.B. On 8 February 1982, the statutes were officially published in the Mémorial C, along with the composition of the committee at that time:
The first general meeting took place on 18 June 1982. On 2 October 1982, VC Smash 81 Bartreng took part in its first championship. In 1985, the VC Smash 81 Bartreng women's team succeeded in moving up to the national division. In 1988, it was the men's team's turn. The Mixed Open Air tournament, known beyond the borders of Luxembourg, was organised for the first time around the Centre Atert in July 1989. In 1992, the three clubs VC Smash 81 Bartreng, CAL Clausen and VC Olympic Luxembourg merged to form a new sports club, CS Bertrange. From 1993 onwards, Norbert Wennmacher served as president, a role he conscientiously fulfilled for many years. On 16 June 1995, the name CS Bertrange was changed to Volley Bartreng, as we know it today. In 2009, Pino Colucci took over as president, a role he still holds today.
